Alida's Weekly Recap - 9/11-9/17

Yesterday, I decided it was time to revamp my recipe organization.   I have piles, files and 3-ring binders filled with recipes from the internet, from magazines, scribbled on post-its, etc.   While it is nice to get some reorganization under way, there is an even greater benefit from this project.   I unearthed many lost but not forgotten recipes, never-been-made-but-wanted-to recipes, and more.   And I will be sharing them all with you.   Everybody wins!

Speaking of wins, I hosted my first giveaway this week.   One lucky reader gets a magazine subscription, of his or her choice, to one of my favorites.   It ended last night, and using random.org, the winner has been selected.

****Drumroll please****

The winner is lucky number 15!!

Congratulations Melissa! I will be in touch to get your info so we can get your Cook's Illustrated subscription up and running.   A big thank you to everyone who participated!

Now let's recap the week.  This week I shared with you:

The Best Chicken Sate with Peanut Sauce

My most requested recipe, which is surprisingly very easy!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Chewy, chunky, chocolaty peanut butter cookies.  These are dangerously good!

Pineapple Zucchini Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting

I enjoyed one of these cupcakes for my lunch dessert every day this week!

Below are a few recipes that caught my eye from other blogs:

Blueberry Buttermilk Breakfast Bread from Good Thymes & Good Food - I still have several pounds of blueberries, and this looks like a perfectly delicious way to use some up!

Salted Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups from broma bakery - Taking the perfect candy treat, and kicking it up a notch? Brilliant, I say!

Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Layer Cake from Annie's Eats - Not only does this cake sound scrumptious, it looks just beautiful!

Glazed Pumpkin Cranberry Scones from What's Cookin' Chicago - A delicious breakfast treat bringing two fall flavors together in a tasty scone.

Cheddar and Jalapeno Smothered Potatoes from Kate from Scratch - A spicy and cheesy potato dish...sounds incredible!

That's all folks.  Have a great rest of your weekend!
